ANIMA is a guided breathwork app operated by IO HAZE PTE. LTD. ("we", "us", "our"). It is designed to be private by default. This page describes what we collect, where it lives, who processes it, and what control you have over it — as the app actually behaves today, including the parts that talk to Google's Firebase platform.
Your practice data — sessions, streaks, achievements and presets — is stored on your device and is not sent to us unless you choose to create an account. Creating an account is optional, and exists only to back up and sync your practice across devices. We do not sell your data. Ever.
When you use ANIMA without an account, your session history, streaks, achievements, personal bests, saved presets, reminders and audio preferences are saved locally on your device and are not transmitted to us. Analytics, described below, applies whether or not you are signed in.
Signing in exists so your practice survives a lost phone or a second device. Accounts are handled by Firebase Authentication (Google), which stores your email address and a password credential if you sign up with email, or the account identifier and basic profile information Google returns if you use Google sign-in, plus a unique user ID that identifies your data to us.
While you are signed in, your practice data is synced to Cloud Firestore (Google) so it can be restored elsewhere. That sync covers session history, personal bests, saved presets, achievements, streak freezes, your reminder schedule, and the display name and email you set in the app.
Signing out removes the local copy from that device and leaves the synced copy in place, so signing back in restores it.
We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand in aggregate how ANIMA is used — which techniques are started, whether sessions are completed, which screens are visited — so we can decide what to build and fix. This includes standard device and app information such as app version, operating system, device model, approximate region and a resettable identifier Google assigns. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
ANIMA is free to start. If you buy a subscription, the transaction is handled by Apple or Google Play, with RevenueCat as our subscription-management provider; they tell us whether your subscription is active. We never see or store your card details — payment information goes to the store you bought through, not to us.
The app may ask permission to send notifications (for your practice reminders), to use haptics, and to play audio. These are used solely to provide those features. Reminders are scheduled and fired locally by your own device — we do not operate a push server and do not receive the contents or timing of your reminders.
No cookies. The app uses your browser's local storage to remember your preferences across visits, and that data stays on your device. The web version is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages, which — like any host — processes standard request information including your IP address in order to deliver the page.
We rely on a small number of providers to run ANIMA: Google (Firebase) for authentication, cloud sync and analytics; Cloudflare for hosting and delivery; and RevenueCat, Apple and Google Play for subscription purchases and status. Your data is handled under their respective terms. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
ANIMA is not directed to children under 13 — or under 16 where local law requires — and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Some breathwork techniques, breath retention in particular, are not appropriate for young children. See the safety notice in the app for the full medical disclaimer.
Use ANIMA fully without an account, and nothing syncs — no email is ever collected. Sign out clears the local copy from that device. Delete account, in the app under Settings → Account, removes the account and its synced data — see Delete your account for the steps and for exactly what is removed and what is kept. To clear local data, use your browser's "clear site data" control on the web, or delete the app on mobile. For a copy of your data, or any other privacy request, email [email protected].
If we change what is collected, transmitted or stored, we will update this page, change the date above, and surface a notice in the app before the change takes effect.
